More than two dozen California wine makers, including Trader Joes Co. and F. Korbel & Bros Inc., were hit with a planned class action in California state court Thursday alleging the firms are intentionally selling wine contaminated with alarmingly high amounts of arsenic. The grievance was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of a Los Angeles guy and three San Diego residents. It seeks class action standing.

The plaintiffs need a stop as well as unspecified punitive damages to the creation of arsenic-tainted wine. More than 24 California winemakers and sellers misrepresent their wine as safe, as stated by the litigation.

Sadly, there are virtually no national labeling requirements to inform you whats truly in wine. When a Denver lab began running tests to find out, what whats found shocked them.

He examined more than 1,300 bottles of wine. Nearly a quarter of whats had degrees higher than the EPAs maximum allowable quantity of arsenic in drinking water: 10 parts per billion. No one can say why, but a routine was found by Hicks.

The lower the cost of wine on a per-liter basis, the more complex the total amount of arsenic, he said.

It’s well known that elevated amounts of arsenic in the human body can cause terrible results. The Food and Drug Administration links long term exposure to elevated rates of arsenic with greater risk for cancers of the skin, bladder, and lungs. It’s additionally linked to vascular disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and lung disorder.

A recent study published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP) shows that long-term exposure to this fatal toxin really prevents the body from naturally removing many other poisonous heavy metals like lead, mercury, iron and cadmium, letting them slowly collect in tissues as well as the mind.
