Based on the pictures, jewelry, medicine, and just about everything else we know about it, it seems like the Victorian age wasn”t the best time to party.

So despite it commonly being symbolized by a man becoming aghast as his monocle cracks, the Victorian age was secretly one of fun and merriment. Even in a time of poor medicine and a depressing lack of child labor laws, people still found ways to turn up.
